Greenhouse Effect

Before this activity i thought that the sun should stilll have enough rays to get through the clouds and heat the earth. In this activity , i learned that the sun has a very hard time to get through the clouds when it is a cloudy day. The suns rays are not able to get through the clouds , so that cant heat up the earth as capable as it could be. So that will usually lead us with a cloudy or rainy day.The process of the sun heating up a planet is called the greenhouse effect.This effects a cyclones because the sun will heat up the some of the water and then the other water that is cold will mix and then start a cyclone from the currents.

Cyclones

A cyclone is an area of low atmospheric pressure characterized by inward spiraling winds that rotate counter clockwise in the northern hemisphere and clockwise in the southern hemisphere of the Earth.Their center is the area of lowest atmospheric pressure, often known in mature tropical and subtropical cyclones as the eye. There is six different types of cyclones.

1.Polar cyclone is a low pressure, usually spanning 1,000–2,000 kilometers, in which the air circulates in a counterclockwise direction in the northern hemisphere, and a clockwise direction in the southern. Another one is

2. Polar Low which is a short-lived atmospheric low atmospheric pressure that is found over the ocean areas poleward of the main polar front in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres.

3. Extratropical is being connected with fronts and horizontal gradients in temperature and dew point otherwise known as "baroclinic zones". They are inaccuratley mistaken for a cyclone.

4. Subtropical is a weather system that has some characteristics of a tropical cyclone and some characteristics of an extratropical cyclone . It can form in a wide band of latitude , from the equator to 50°.

5. Tropical is a storm system fueled by the heat released when moist air rises and the water vapor in it condenses.They are distinguished from other cyclonic windstorms such as nor'easters, European windstorms , and polar lows by the heat mechanism that fuels them, which makes them "warm core" storm systems.Tropical cyclones can produce extremely strong winds, tornadoes, torrential rain, high waves, and storm surges. The most common types of tropical storms are hurricanes, typhoons, tropical storms, cyclonic storm and tropical depression.

6. Mesoscale is a cyclonic vortex of air, between approximately 2 and 10 km diameter within a convective storm. They can often be found in association with updrafts in supercells , where tornadoes may form.

A tropical cyclone is the generic term for a non-frontal synoptic scale low-pressure system over tropical or sub-tropical waters with organized convection and definite cyclonic surface wind circulation.

A tropical cyclone is a storm system characterized by a low pressure center and numerous thunderstroms that produce strong winds and flooding rain. A tropical cyclone feeds on the heat released when moist air rises and the water vapor it contains condenses.Depending on their location and strength, tropical cyclones are referred to by other names, such as hurricane, typhoon , tropical storm , cyclonic storm,tropical depression and simply cyclone. While tropical cyclones can produce extremely powerful winds and torrential rain, they are also able to produce high waves and damaging storm surge . They develop over large bodies of warm water, and lose their strength if they move over land. The tropical strom a be very damaging to your home, town, state, or even country.For this to happen the has to be the mix of the warm and cold air and the right winds.They have hurricane hunters that go and forcast the weather out in the oceans. They usually warn people by putting warning signals on t.v or the radio and ringing the loud sirons in everytown its supposed to come through.
